COMPETENCE

Identify and apply evidence-based guidelines and clinical pathways for the care, treatment and long-term monitoring of cancer patients and cancer survivors between the ages 15 and 39 (i.e., adolescents and young adults (AYAs)).

Delineate how to enhance the quality of life of AYA cancer patients and cancer survivors by addressing symptoms, functional sequelae, and psychosocial morbidity.
PERFORMANCE

Collaborate with colleagues to conduct inter-disciplinary research in AYA oncology.

Implement new models-of-care for AYA cancer patients and survivors the elements of which include multidisciplinary AYA teams, psychosocial care, survivorship planning, clinical trial enrollment, and age-appropriate facilities for treatment and consultation.

Identify unmet needs facing AYA cancer patients and survivors, develop the appropriate responses to address these needs, and evaluate the effectiveness of those responses.
